How dirty are you?

When it comes to the restaurant industry, often times the shiny and glamorous dining rooms can be a far cry from the bustling, messy, crowded kitchens where meals are prepared. Keeping all of your staff fully trained and kitchen equipment in tip top shape is not only a necessity for preserving the health of your customers, but also for maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. This is where ServSafe certification steps in to save the day.

Who doesn’t have a super busy night where everything just seems crazy and numerous things go wrong? As orders keep piling on, so does the pressure, and that leaves valuable resources over utilized – which can create risk in the restaurant business. We have all had to pull a dishwasher to do emergency prep or ask a server to run and quick make gravy. These things just happen when your busy and busy is good. To a point.

Let’s be honest – while there are no judgements here, having a clean kitchen and knowing the ins and outs of proper sanitation, hand washing, danger zone temperatures, and how to maintain and store products in your walk-in are important topics we all need a refresher on every now and then. As for non-management staff it’s always a good idea to have them ServSafe trained as well.
